Sketch for Conjuring Songbirds

As I was scanning this I realized that all I need to do is remove the man from this picture. I think it will work much better with just the woman. It looks more plaintive and secret. I have some great forest source imagery I'm itching to use, too.

Good morning Julie. It'll be interesting to see how this evolves!

My sister got her scarf yesterday and went absolutely, totally crazy over it!

She said it is amazing!

I'm going to get to see it on Friday!

Thanks for doing this! She needed a lift!

I like these characters you have created. I can see them used for political satire as well as children's books. Well, now we have come complete circle haven't we. Alice in Wonderland is all about politics! If you were so inclined, you could create a new Alice or a new Gulliver!!!

I adore your title: "Conjuring Songbirds". Could be an illustration to another children's book. I really think you should look into that!

I'm glad you figured out how you want it before you started painting. I always seem to realize that stuff after I start painting! Its going to look great.
