Autumn Woods WIP

A nice picture of an autumn forest in progress. I know I should get started on my Horror Realm artwork, but I'm just not feeling it. I would like to have a few new pieces, but I have until September to get them done, so I'm feeling like taking a bit of a detour.

Now this is interesting. I've only done a little bit of painting and usually worked the whole canvas in layers. What appeals to me is the methodical way you are completing the edge before going forward. I really like the color palette you have chosen for this piece.

I know what you mean when you say you don't feel like it. I run into dry spells and then I come out of them and paint. I think that is the case with a lot of artists. One year I built a altar piece out of styrofoam and cardboard, and when I finished the construction, I knew I had to gesso and paint it. After that piece, I went on to do several paintings before I ran out of gas and had to fill my tank.

Yes, I love your style, and I am positive others would too.

Oh, the HORROR of not feelin' it.... Reminds me of one of my favorite British expressions. "I feels it."

(I've not heard that British expression before Kass). As for taking detours...it's great ..you discover things you never expected. However Julie, so until your Horror 'mojo' kicks in, enjoy the detour.
