Plaster Poe

This is a 2" x 3" Edgar Allen Poe on plaster. I made a few of these larger sized plasters before I got the molds with which I am making my latest miniatures. Waste not want not.

WOW!! You should do a post showing the process and the tools to do such small detailed work. It's reeeeeeally cool, Julie!

I love Edgar! My son went to the University of Virginia and whenever I would visit I always made a point of going to Poe's dorm room. He went to UVA and they have preserved his room, very cool. Beautiful work!

I agree with all the nice comments about this piece of work. When I was a child, I enjoyed looking at the miniature portrait collection at the Cincinnati Art Museum. I found these small gems very interesting.

Wonderful, as always, Julie. Is that the surface of your palette in the background, with all the paint splatters? I love the look of my palette at the end of a good painting :)
