Her Heart on the Shore with the Rest of the Driftwood

Painting in progress today. Inspired by The Dark Heart of Dunwich - Suffolk legend from the 12th century. Eva, a Dunwich maiden, was due to be married to the son of a local landowner, but she fell in love instead with a worthless cad who soon deserted her. She cut out her heart and hurled it into the sea. Unable to die, she is purported to roam the shore.  The heart, similar in appearance to wood, is believed to sometimes wash up onto the beach and brings great misfortune to anyone who picks it up.
