Harold Agnew and the Plutonium Core
Painting in progress today of Harold Agnew in 1945, holding the plutonium core of the Nagasaki Fat Man bomb. He looks so happy and wholesome, like he’s delivering some milk to this quonset hut. It’s so dissonant and, in a way, tremendously horrible. I needed to paint it.
