I will probably be blogging sporadically for a while. This is a challenging season for My Good Babushka, I will leave it at that.
Progress on the arm covers. First I sewed the cord in place, then I sewed the channels deep enough so that they didn't show from the front side. Then I realized I had to take out my stitches that were holding the cords in place, or I wouldn't be able to draw them tight without puckering the fabric. Did I mention I'm sewing every thing by hand?
Old and new
Putting the arm cover in place. Trying to imagine the future.
My messy notes. The instructions I am following backwards.
How things stand

Progress!
Never mind the sporadic posting. Just know that we are here for you if things become overwhelming.
Love you!
Great to hear from you Julie! Progress is looking good my friend(O:
I know I shouldn't laugh...but I am smiling a lot! Have fun ;-)
This looks overwhelming! But it seems that you know what you're doing. I would love to reupholster the seat of my favorite chair...but there are many issues--not the least of which being that I'm not a skilled seamstress. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
I just admire your chutzpah in taking on such a task. Wish I were as willing to jump in and get something like that done, solo-style.
Keep us posted, when you can...!
=)
By hand??? What a challenge. Progress is looking great! Hope your challenging time brings good things as well.
Look at you Julie. All upholstery pioneer woman!
Your projects never cease to amaze me! Hoping you're enjoying your summer with your boys.
This is a creation you may agonize over, but you will stand and stare at it with such pride when you're done. Hand-stitched! That's impressive.
It looks like it's going to be beautiful when its done. Just hang in there.
