Dark Rivers
I am just noodling about. I like the way our creeks and rivers get all overgrown with hanging tree branches. We have visited quite a few this summer. The Neshannock and the Loyalhanna. The Monongahela and the Youghiogheny. I like the darkness under there. The smell of mud. I am trying to think about it on canvas. I want to do something that is very loose and dark, and then comes into a focus. This has a long way to go. Some places are still very loose and uninteresting. I want to let my hands think for me, and build up more and more layers. I don't know how far I'll get with this, or if it is a dead end. Maybe it's just a therapeutic exercise. Who knows.
