In My Lady's Chamber

Here is one of the first sketches for "In My Lady's Chamber". I decided early on to leave out any person-subject. I felt that something should be coming into the room. And here I was trying out insects, dragonflies. Then after that didn't seem to do it for me. I put in a "stand-in" for the subject in the dress form with hoopskirt. I think that works better. I sketched it approximately this way on the canvas- 22" x 26", I think.
