A Child's Funeral Day One
I found a photo of a turn of the century looking funeral for a child. I made a few changes to the composition, added a few inventions, since the photo was pretty grainy and not very detailed. Here is the first day of work on it.
*On edit- I SWEAR this is the last outright morbid thing I'll be doing for a while! Stick with me, we'll get through this!

I am torn between thinking how morbid ; how creative; and how funny!
You put me through the mental paces regularly. :)
I'll be interested to see when its done, what the faces look like.
you know...i must be getting used to you quite well because morbid did not come to mind! I enjoy seeing how you progress through these works.
Historical not morbid, in my opinion, is the correct word. Yes, it is fun and interesting to watch how you turn a piece of plain paper into a painting. I like your style and I have said that before. I still think you are a natural illustrator with a unique perspective in your presentations.
I really enjoy watching your works in process. I'm just so glad that when I clicked the link in my sidebar that it wasn't a recent funeral for someone you knew...
Rats. A dead child. Now I'm sad.
it's a beautiful work in progress... not morbid at all.
It's interesting to see the beginning of your painting..
julie, you are so creative, and such an inspiration! i like it alot!
