Paper Moon

Story illustration 10, 11, and 12, umm, in no particular order! The adventuresome pair find a mysterious sad woman encased in a rosebush. For my story "The Boy from a Paper Moon".

Blocking in the color. The least impressive part of the process. It will get better.

Story Illustration

Story illustration features my heroine eating a handful of candy. There is a dinner party through the doors behind her. I left their countenances a little warbled and grotesque.
I also included a three tiered serving tray. I was a little obsessed with finding a three tiered serving plate, about a decade ago. Then I found one at an antique shop. It is a Crown Staffordshire bone china three tiered serving plate in Lyric Blue Tunis. I will try to get a picture of it for you. I put it in the basement when the kids came along, and I only recently put it back on display. Now the kids are old enough to know they are going to be in BIG trouble if they break my stuff!

Story Illustration May 4

I was really unhappy with the way this face came out, I will be working with it again. It looks a little manic, and too well defined. I sort of like the ambiguous, shadowy appearance of the first illustration. This one has too much Campbell soup kid about him.

A Child's Funeral Day One

I found a photo of a turn of the century looking funeral for a child. I made a few changes to the composition, added a few inventions, since the photo was pretty grainy and not very detailed. Here is the first day of work on it.

*On edit- I SWEAR this is the last outright morbid thing I'll be doing for a while! Stick with me, we'll get through this!

Commission- Megapaint!

Making the corrections that the client requested while still making some forward progress. Worked on the Hetfield-lion portrait and defined the landscape towards the front of the painting. Client is still unsure about the position of Mustaine below the waist, so I will come back to the legs later.
