Skeleton Embroidery

A little more progress on my skeleton embroidery in Haphazard Turkish Knot. Very little progress. In the winter, embroidery floss dries out my hands like nothing else, so I think I'm avoiding it for that reason. I've recently had the kind of cracked and dry fingers that socks stick to on laundry day (frowny face).
I just bought some Vaseline with Cocoa Butter, though, and I really rub it into my hands at night. I love it and it smells very nice.

Vaseline with Cocoa Butter! Must try. Love your skeleton embroideries always.

I've been known to rub vaseline on my feet and then put socks on when I go to bed. It helps.

Most of the time there's moisture in the air here...even in winter. This is a semi-tropical area, but we only need one dry day and my hands and heels immediately crack. I'm amazed at how quickly it happens...it can happen overnight. I was embroidering the other day and the thread kept getting caught on my fingers. I still don't think it's as dry here as it is by you. We can never rub our feet on the carpet and give each other shocks. I remember doing that all the time as a kid in NJ.

It's cool!

I just ordered some coconut oil hand lotion I'm going to try out. I'll let you know how it works.

I never knew embroidery floss could be drying! Interesting!

Hmmm maybe that is why my hands are so dry and cracked so early in the season! I usually don't have this problem until January... I've been knitting and crocheting my fingers to the bone and maybe the fibers are drying me out....

I like goat's milk lotion for my hands, Even though I drink lots more water in the winter, my skin is so dry. We have around 2 in. of snow so no school tomorrow!! Woohoo I am sleeping late(8:00) and doing some of my Christmas decorating.

I'm all about shea butter. Plus I rub jojoba oil into my sad cracked cuticles. We have new latex gloves at the hospital and my hands don't like them.

I've tried a LOT of different lotions and potions. CO is so very dry year round. By far the best is Bath and Body Works "Look Ma! New hands!" It has paraffin in it, and smells lemony and nice. Last through a hand washing, too.
