Child Portrait in Progress

Child portraits are always challenging because their faces lack the defining landmarks, shadows, wrinkles, etc. of adult faces. Just all plump and dewy. It's also tempting to really overemphasize the pinkness. I usually temper it with a nice pale green. I think that gives a good light-skinned child's skin tone. This cheek is still a little bit too pink, but I'm going to let it dry a while before I go back in.

How sweet. Have you ever done your own children's portraits? You must be busy from the moment you get up in the morning until last thing at night. You get so much accomplished.
