Mayfly is my latest work in progress inspired by fairy tale illustrations and Russian lacquer paintings, among other things. I've chosen to do something different and paint on an all black background. It does look dramatic. I'm afraid when I glaze it, though, it will get so reflective that it will be hard to scan or photograph.
