Troublesome Creek

Troublesome Creek. Original painting 8" x 10" acrylic on thick, acid-free paper. Inspired by The Blue Fugates of Troublesome Creek, Kentucky. They were a family known for carrying the genetic trait that led to the disease, methemoglobinemia, which gives those who have it blue skin.

Painting does not contain the "My Good Babushka" watermark that was included here for security purposes. By Julie Kwiatkowski Schuler.

Troublesome Creek

Still working on my little characters for this painting. I've not been happy with them yet. I must keep at it.

Troublesome Creek

The Fugates, a family that lived in the hills of Kentucky, commonly known as the Blue Fugates of Troublesome Creek, were notable for having been carriers of a genetic trait that led to the disease methemoglobinemia, which gives sufferers blue-tinged skin.

This is Troublesome Creek,  my painting inspired by that story.
