The Cottage Garden Embroidery
Two embracing friends on this folky stumpwork embroidery experiment. I like their little fringes of bullion knot hair.
While this piece is still in the hoop, you can see other finished Hand Embroidered Art at My Good Babushka. Embroidery, Art, Jewelry

Cottage Embroidery
This is my first try at stumpwork. I've made tiny little stuffed muslin shapes of birds and sewn them down onto the fabric ground. I'm embroidering over them with chain stitches. It makes the shapes stand up and gives it a three dimensional effect.
This one is not finished but you can see some finished Hand Embroidery at My Good Babushka. Hand Embroidery, Painting, Chainmaille Jewelry

Cuckoo Cottage Embroidery
I want to try some stumpwork embroidery, with some of the stitches standing up off of the ground fabric. I've chosen a happy cottage scene with two hugging women for my subject. I took a rough sketch and then tried to simplify it because I want my embroidery to have a happy, folky kind of feel. At the bottom, I started the sky in brick stitch and the trees in bullion knots. This embroidery is not finished, but you can see the rest of the embroidery I have available in the Hand Embroidery Section of My Good Babushka Art, Needlework and Jewelry
