Hasenpfeffer
There is a folk- tale feeling to this painting of a young girl, beleaguered and scratched by a warren of rabbits. She is in the process of dispatching them for hasenpfeffer. Into the big copper pot they go! Their freshly skinned pelts dry on the wall. Original painting by Julie Kwiatkowski Schuler. Acrylic on acid free paper 8" x 10". See more about Hasenpfeffer or other paintings available at My Good Babushka. Art, Chainmaille, Needlework

Hasenpfeffer
I worked on the portrait of the girl butcher using my youngest son as a reference. It came out to look a little like me as a child, but that's because my son looks very much like me.
You can see the finished painting- Hasenpfeffer - at My Good Babushka. Art, Chainmaille, Needlework.

Hasenpfeffer
There is a folk tale feeling to this painting of a young girl in the process of dispatching these rabbits. They're freshly skinned pelts are drying on the wall.It reminds me of the young maidens in fairy tales locked into rooms and being forced to spin fiber or weave cloth, or whatever damn thing they are always being made to do.

Hasenpfeffer
Making Hasenpfeffer. This might be my most "ashcan" of palettes. A lot of brown. I worked today on getting the rabbit hides nailed to the wall, and adding the sufficient amount of blood-staining.
