Mermaid Embroidery

I've been working on this embroidery for a little while. I had this nice shimmery remnant of greenish fabric and I thought a mermaid would be the perfect thing for it. The design is sort of a mash up between a mid-nineteenth century illustration and an art nouveau-ish sort of thing. I think it will really pop if I make a halo of red coral lace and other sea-things around her.

Your artistic talents are, without, question, top notch! I am also thoroughly impressed by the uniformity of your stitches! You must have really good eyesight and a steady hand. I don't know how you do it! I look forward to seeing this work progress.

Oh wow. Look at all those intricate stitches! I really want to learn embroidery more. I have two friends who are really into mermaids, so let us know when its finished, they might be interested in it, if its something you plan to sell.

Nice. I like mermaids too. I am getting into embroidery, but in the machine kind for ball caps for my Ski Cincinnati logo. Embroidery is a whole new ball game for me.

5th sister- I am excruciatingly nearsighted, but it doesn't seem to get in the way.

Chris Tea- I do plan on putting it on etsy when I'm done, but I'm a very slow embroideress, and I've already started three different projects since beginning this. So it's anyone's guess as to when it will be finished!

Money- I am terrible with machines. I cleaned my sewing machine and now it doesn't work. The bobbin won't stay in the bobbin holder. It takes a whole different kind of learning and thinking to operate machines. Good luck with your logo embroidery!
