Two New Knitting Projects

On top is an afghan I'm making with pink/rose yarn. It's pretty simple k3, p2, etc. I like that it is thick and useful and warm. Sometimes you don't want a lacy blanket.

On the bottom is my lacy red shawl. It's knitting up very slowly. It's very thin yarn. I'm only just coming to the end of one skein and I have two more to go.

Both of your knitting projects are looking very lovely. I like the simplicity of the ribbed knit. So to make it big enough to be a blanket, you make it on the needles that are attached with the wire? (or whatever you call the part at attaches them?)

Both lovely. I so miss knitting, but I'll spare you the whining this time. I used to make baby afghans for each of my friend's babies. It was a pattern called "Grandma's Lace". Two sets of 8 stitches that repeated. Created a scalloped edge, with ridges and holes. Just precious. Your afghan looks like it will be very cozy.

These are beautiful! I have only done one knitted piece ever...a little knitted onsie...it was my first attempt. and I had to hurriedly get it on our baby girl, cuz it just fit! (It's amazing that I didnt get our chubby little baby caught in the zipper!) haha

I posted the one and only photo of her when she was 2 weeks old in the onsie here:
