Pennsylvania Dutch Inspired Embroidery

Hand embroidered ornament 5" x 4" inspired by the colorful motifs of Pennsylvania Dutch art. Made by hand with cotton floss on a cotton canvas fabric. Stuffed with polyester fiber and hand sewn together. There is a muslin envelope back for holding notes, small gifts, or cinnamon sticks and cloves for a naturally scented sachet. Hand crocheted cotton thread hanging loop at top. You can find the Pennsylvania Dutch Embroidered Ornament at My Good Babushka.

Mural and Embroidery

A little embroidery today. And below are two pictures of a mural in progress. I intend it to be a forest scene, but it's only just underway. It does make one's arm tired after one is used to painting small paintings.

Below is a teapot embroidery. I somehow missed taking pictures of this one in progress. So below this is the picture of the finished ornament/ sachet. It has a muslin envelope sewn into the back, and extra pouch, for holding a note perhaps, or some cinnamon sticks and cloves, to make a nice, naturally scented sachet. Working on a few little skeleton embroideries.

Both of these have gone to their new home, but there is more embroidery at My Good Babushka

Hand Embroidered Christmas Ornament

I started another embroidered star, this one is red in the middle. You can also see the finished blue-in-the-middle star ready to get sewn into an ornament.

Hand Embroidered Star Ornament

More work on my embroidered star ornament. You can see I even took it with me to Chuck E. Cheese. Might as well get something done while I'm watching the coats, tickets, and tokens.

Embroidered Star Ornament

I decided to embroider some star shaped ornaments. Could be Christmas ornaments. Inspired by the kalocsa style floral embroidery of Hungary. I just needed some color, since I started that brown sweater.
