The White Hart Brings an Omen. By Julie Kwiatkowski Schuler.
Inspired by the story of St. Julian who was hunting a stag, and the stag
told him that he (Julian) would one day kill his own mother and father.
Painting in progress.
Inspired by the story of St. Julian, who was hunting for stag one day. The stag he was hunting told him that one day he would kill his father and mother. So here is a stag delivering that omen.
Jacobean, Dia de los Muertos sort of mingling in this very colorful embroidery. I've outlined the faintly pink skeleton with light gold thread. Sparkly.
Bright colors of French cotton floss
pop against the background of black cotton on this hand embroidered
pillow 12" x 12". Five shisha mirrors are sewn on with my special needle
weaving dahlia stitch. The pillow features lots of chain stitch and
double chain stitch as well. All hand embroidered and hand constructed.
Stuffed with hypoallergenic polyester fiber fill. Spot clean when
necessary.
Five shisha mirrors sewn on and lots of chain stitch. I wasn't sure I was going to like it until I started putting in the flowers. I think it's shaping up now.
I guess the embroidery bug has bitten me hard! I'm starting a larger piece, but a popular and pretty common theme of mine, skulls! and hearts and flowers, too. It's a very feminine and pretty piece, even though it has skulls.
