Hannibal Lecter Miniature Portrait on Plaster Cameo

I like to paint miniature portraits. Here is an example of one, Hannibal Lecter. He's always popular. This cameo is 1.25" across and 2" long. I really go through the liner brushes doing these, but they are kind of fun.

Here is the finished work as it looks listed in my Etsy store. You can read more about it, or buy it Here at My Good Babushka.

Horror Realm Convention 2010

Here is our Horror Realm Convention neighbor, John Towers. He writes and draws his own comics, and he was doing zombie portraits right there at his table. It was cool to watch him work. He is very fast and precise. See his website www.jonnyaxx.com. Go ahead and get your zombie portrait done! It's a real bargain.

Here's our table. It's a bit blurry. oops. And no, we are not selling those T-shirts hanging behind us, that was our neighbors to the other side, taking up more room. grrr.

Sweet little ghoul. She was so patient getting her make up done. It took at least twenty minutes. I woulda been all squirmy.

And here is Annie Vicar with her doll display. You can visit Annie's shop- Annie Vicar's Dolls and Skellery!

More Horror Realm Convention 2010

This was the artist that was directly behind us. He set up his wall WAAAAYYY back from his table, up against our table. grrrr. We were all squeezed in. Next year I'm going early and set up first, then I'm going to set loose a jar of deadly scorpions under his table...... or maybe I'll just set up first.

Here is a cute little ghoul that kept making us buy her candy bars.

That's Annie in the background, behind her awesome witch doll. I love the bloody severed pig head. It's delightful.

The Xanadudes is a secret club for men who like Xanadu... I guess I let the secret out.

Another art vendor. I didn't actually meet him, but I like his hat.

Horror Realm Convention 2010

I was a vendor at this years Horror Realm Convention at the Crown Plaza Hotel in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. Here are some of the snaps I'd like to finally share.

Some of the stylish undead.

Thread is a tiny stuffed cat made out of a sweater. He is a German exchange student cat and says things like "Hallo. I like it the cupcakes." He makes me laugh. He is the altar ego/avatar of doll artist, Annie Vicar.

Annie's Barbara Steele doll.

Ashley C.Williams of The Human Centipede..... fame...... Look it up. We couldn't afford to take her picture, but we just wanted everyone to know that she was there.

Annie's Dia de los Muertos doll. I really loved her.

Horror Realm Convention 2010

If you are going to be in the South Hills Area of Pittsburgh this September 17-19 and you like scary movies then Horror Realm 2010 is the place to be. It's a super great time. An earlier incarnation of this convention was where I got my start as an exhibitor/vendor. Now I'm addicted to the little "Vendor" or "Exhibitor" plastic tags on lanyards that you get when you check in. I like being able to stroll in and out of the dealer room with my lanyard on, it makes me feel powerful.

The Last Man on Earth

I have a rockin' new commission. Vincent Price in Last Man on Earth! Yay!. This is 18" x 24" on a stretched canvas with a 2" profile. It's a big, sturdy stretcher. This will be my first time shipping something this big, so I'm going to get an idea of what to charge. It turned out to be pretty heavy. I'm going to have to eat some cost this time.
