BNM Auto Sales, 922 N. Croton Ave. New Castle, Pa. 16101
As I have written about earlier, my husband and I bought a car from BNM Auto Sales, New Castle, Pa. in January with a new inspection sticker, only to find out soon after it had tremendous damage, a bent frame, and should never have passed inspection. The tire blew out, nearly killing my husband, within the first two weeks. When he went back to BNM to talk about his concerns, they put brake fluid in. Immediately after, the master cylinder went and he lost his brakes, almost getting killed again. Our mechanic told us they had put the wrong brake fluid in. We have had to put $1500 into this car within 3 months. The guy at BNM laughed at my husband on the phone, and won't lift a finger to make this right. I have two children and they could have been in the car, either time or both times that the machine failed in spectacular fashion.
I am warning anyone in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, anyone far and wide, and anywhere this blog goes, not to give any business to BNM Auto Sales, New Castle, Pa.

I am warning anyone in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, anyone far and wide, and anywhere this blog goes, not to give any business to BNM Auto Sales, New Castle, Pa. I hope they get shut down very soon, and stop selling deadly dangerous cars. These are very bad business men and very poor human beings.

Since this happened, and it scared the hell out of me, I've been making studies of car crashes. I am also warning anyone in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, anyone far and wide, and anywhere this blog goes, not to give any business to BNM Auto Sales, New Castle, Pa. It's unfortunate, but when someone tries to kill me with lying and negligence, I do tend to dwell on these things.

I've been thinking about this all quite a lot. I'm working through my feelings about our recent brush with death with what I'm calling my BNM cycle. I have become very interested in the shape and texture and variety of car crashes. I plan on studying these in small format paintings, and each one will give inspirational credit to BNM Auto Sales, New Castle, Pa. After a while, I hope, if you Google BNM Auto Sales, New Castle Pa, it will just be a big bloody pile of car crashes. I may make them available at my Etsy site in hopes of recouping our loss, or to recoup lawyers expenses if we go that route. We are seeking legal counseling tomorrow.
I hope I get a lot of re-blogs and tweets. I am not a super-rich person, I'm an artist, so this has been a very bad setback for me psychologically and financially. I already hate driving. When I get to a stoplight, I have a very strong urge to just get out of the car and run away! So this experience has really aggravated a long-standing phobia of mine. Until now I have stuck to just blogging about my work, but I felt that this was very important, and now this personal event...very scary for me... it has become tangled up in my painting, in my work. I don't know where it is going to end... so I'm going to sign off and get back to work.

Afternoon Music
Some sketches for "Afternoon Music" And below is our set up for the New Castle Art Festival that was at the end of May. We had two new displays that we built from stuff the previous owners of our house left in the garage. It's way better than gridwall. It withstood amazing wind and it packs down wonderfully, saving a lot of trunk space. That's important for itinerant crafters like us.
We had a good time and got to talk to a lot of nice folks. We also got to try out our new credit card reader. Twentieth century, look out, here we come!

Checks Furniture- Reupholstering

I got super excited about this! When I took off the seat and some of the front upholstery, I could see that the springs were Flex-O-lator springs made in New Castle, Pa! Right where I live now! They are not there anymore, of course, but I just thought it was weird. My grandmother bought this in 1955-57 in Monessen at a high end furniture store called Checks. It's not there anymore, either. They spent 50 years in Belle Vernon. Then she gave them to me. I brought those springs back home to New Castle! I know it's not a very big circuit, but we are not a people much disposed to traveling. I just thought it was neat. Next time I'll tell you some stuff I found out about Monessen.
Sorry about the lack of updates on my art projects, but I'm not doing any of them! I am entirely single-mindedly devoted to this project. I would like to not eat or sleep and just keep doing it until it is done. But I won't, because I'm no longer inflexible like that. Like the time I sent my husband out for Christmas lights after Thanksgiving dinner.... that's not me any more. I make dinner and bathe my kids and play with them outside, and I'm not entirely obsessed with one thing... much.
