Custom Made Rabbit Embroidered Pillow

8" x 11" custom hand-embroidered pillow featuring a rabbit and flower, moon and stars. Cotton thread on cotton canvas, hand sewn and stuffed with polyester fiber.

The Barghest in progress. I spent a lot of this session trying to get the sky and moon and the far background established.

The Woodcutters

The Woodcutters has a day or two left. This is my first attempt to make the kind of painting that I would like to have. I hope it is timeless, with the narrative pared down, but still interesting with some ambiguity.

The Woodcutters

My first woodcutter. In the interest of balance and simplicity, inspired by folk tales and classic story illustrations, I've emphasized his face. This is my step away from realism, maybe not forward, but back to medieval hierarchical interpretations of vision. Bringing the most important things to the foremost by way of relative sizing. There is also a tandem thread in the philosophy of phenomenology, wherein the things of psychological import are seen larger. In short, I hope you enjoy my big-headed characters.

Much happier with the background now that I've mixed in a good amount of yellow ocher, crimson, burnt sienna- given it some warmer touches.

Howling Rabbit and Dragon Embroidery

Here is a custom embroidery I'm working on of a little bronze rabbit howling at the moon, surrounded by flowers, of course.

And I've finally finished both dragon pillows. Red and blue dragon pillows, entirely hand embroidered on the front, about 12" square.
