Here is my finished shisha skull embroidery. This is a 12" x 12" all hand embroidered and hand constructed pillow. One of a kind.  This one is sold, but you can find similar ones in the Embroidery Section at  My Good Babushka.

Green Cabled Cardigan is Finished!

Inspired by the classic cardigan patterns of the fifties and sixties, this is a stylish, traditional cabled cardigan to fit a 44"-46" chest. Hand knit in easy care worsted weight acrylic yarn so it can be machine washed and dried. 28" long from the top to the bottom hem, sleeves are also 28" long. Features include very nice cable pattern on the fronts, back and the side of each sleeve, two set-in front pockets 6" deep, and lovely new etched wooden buttons. Hungarian Embroidery

I've decided to work on my satin stitches and try out some Hungarian style, Kolacsa embroidery. This is done on some pink fabric, a blended suiting fabric of some kind that I've found either in a thrift store or church rummage sale, who knows! But it seemed perfectly cheerful for a kalocsa doily.

I'm happy to be back to blogging after my long winters nap. I'm excited about the new projects I've been thinking about and can't wait to get started!

First, I'd like to finish up some old business. These are some pictures of an embroidery project that I started before we moved.

Retro Pink Sweater

New, handknit sweater inspired by vintage patterns from the 50's. This ends-right-at-the-waist cardigan will look nice paired with a skirt. Has cute collar and buttoned cuffs on the 3/4 length sleeves. Finished with vintage pink buttons. Knit with wool/ acrylic blend that can be hand washed or washed on a delicate cycle. Tumble dry low heat or lay flat to dry. Small, fits chest size 32"-34".

Our Last Show of the Year!

My Good Babushka will be appearing with fine art prints and chainmaille jewelry at The Oddmall in Hudson, Ohio. That is TOMORROW from 10 to 6. I've never been to this show before, but it's FREE to the public and I've heard there's a lot of neat stuff there.
