Scarf and Hat
A scarf and hat in evergreen colored wool that I made for my youngest son. I am trying to use up some leftover yarn before I start another a big project.

Raglan Cardigan in Cadet Blue
I have a very pretty basket full of sport weight wool yarn in a color called "cadet blue". I'm going to make a raglan cardigan. Here is the back, which looks strangely more turquoise in this light. I suppose the color is somewhere between the top and bottom colors.

Gunmetal Shawl

So what else is on the needles? This gunmetal gray shawl that I'm knitting in fingering weight yarn that is a merino wool and silk blend. I'm about one skein in, two skeins to go.

Cadet Blue Sweater Jacket Interlude

Two fronts and one sleeve! This sweater has pockets and collar and interfacing, so... still lots of little bits to go. This is the last of my yarn, and I'm getting the itch to buy some more. I have been thinking of going the whole way and knitting myself a dress. I'm having a terrible time picking a color that I think I will look good in, though. Maybe something neutral would be best.

Cadet Blue Leisure Jacket
Another retro-styled mens sweater. This picture doesn't do the color justice. This will be the back.

Clover and Almond Cardigan

Now is when I wish I had some sweater elves to visit in the night and sew up my sweater... and weave in all those ends.

Mens Shawl Collar Cardigan

I am in love with this piece! Really rich chestnut brown sport weight wool hand knitted into a retro-styled mens shawl collar cardigan. This sweater will fit a chest size 44"-46", the sleeves are 22", and from shoulder to bottom edge measures 24". I bought special vintage buttons for the perfect finishing touch. This sweater also has two very generous front pockets. It is a luscious sweater that looks really really good, too. Available for purchase here- Sweater at My Good Babushka!

Sleeves for a Sweater

Sleeves for my Mens Shawl Collar Cardigan in sport weight wool. The lovely color is called "chestnut". When I begin doing sleeves, I know it's time to start thinking of my next knitting project.

Chestnut Shawl Collared Wool Cardigan

I do still knit. Here is the picture to prove it. I am plodding along on this shawl-collared cardigan, reinvented from a pattern from the mid-fifties. It is knit with a sport weight Peruvian wool and the color is called "chestnut".

Classic Mens Raglan Cardigan in Light Brown

I am posting an advertisement for myself today because I love this sweater I knitted.
This is my own pattern based on a classic men's raglan cardigan, handmade of 100% Peruvian Highland worsted weight wool in a soft brown color called Caribou. Fits a 40" chest. Six tortoiseshell styled buttons close the front placket. This sweater also has two generous pockets 8" x 6" in the front. Very solidly constructed, classic, and warm. Hand wash wool garments in mild soap and dry flat.
Might make a good holiday gift for a fellow.

Raglan Wool Sweater for a Man

I got some really really great wool, and I think it's turning me into a yarn snob. It's so furry and squishy and lustrous! I ordered this from Knitpicks. 100% wool, worsted weight, and the color is called "Caribou". I started working with a vintage pattern for a men's sweater. Then I decided I liked the Wrong Side better, so I made that the right side. I also changed the decreases at the top. I think it will make it fit better. Look at those luscious stitches! On the needle right now are the pocket linings.

Dressing Up My Chair
I fancied up my reupholstered chair with this wool afghan. It's a little bit lacy, but not too much. It was a real pleasure to knit. I like to knit giant squares, with no extra sewing or ends to work in.

Justin wouldn't get out of the way, so you'll have to admire it around him.

There is a close up on the pattern and the color. It's a lovely blue-green but not shocking. It has a weathered and heathered look about it. It's 100% wool, so remind me not to put it in the dryer.
